Back to the Basics of Centering Prayer with an Introductory Workshop
Saturday, September 9th, 2023
8:45 am – 12:00 pm Central Time
This day will focus on using the practices of Centering Prayer to respond to everyday life with a new heart and being fully present to each moment. This Workshop will help those searching for emotional and spiritual growth by practicing these powerful meditation practices. Those with an established Centering Prayer practice will also benefit by refreshing the essentials of these practices.
If we’re honest, each of us is struggling with something: relationships, activities, over thinking, perspectives, memories, health issues, substances, food, work, shopping, codependence, spirituality, perfectionism or religion among other things. We know today that contemplative prayer heals the emotional wounds of our lifetime. God’s gift of contemplation through the practice of Centering Prayer offers a renewal to our consciousness. Which allows it to disengage and/or refuse to identify with or feed what are only passing inclinations. It is the absolute opposite of addiction, consumerism or any egoic consciousness. Contemplative prayer touches the deep unconscious, where our real hurts and motivations lie. And with God’s guidance helps us to recover the innate source of our well-being within. By developing a deeper relationship with God through the practice of this prayer method we will experience new opportunities to be fully in the present moment. And know a new freedom from automatic reactions that seem to diminish with this call to a deeper relationship with our personal God. We will review the basics of Centering Prayer and answer any questions or difficulties people are having with the practice.
