COSTL PRAYERFUL DISCERNMENT DAY — Sat. Nov. 9th from 8:30-12:30

Road through a forest.

On November 9th you are most cordially invited to help us prayerfully discern the direction of our chapter in St. Louis for the coming year. (This was formerly called Visioning Day.)

O Spirit,
Bless all who may participate in this Planning Day.
Open our ears to Your wisdom as spoken through others
and empower us with the courage and humility
to lead this journey of prayer in deep relationship with You.

As a chapter of Contemplative Outreach, we have three main purposes:

• To present Centering Prayer workshops
• To sustain our ability to present Centering Prayer workshops
• To support prayer groups and their facilitators

Our mission is to conduct Centering Prayer workshops. That means we all share in this mission.
• Are you willing to consider becoming a commissioned presenter of Centering Prayer? Do you have three years of Centering Prayer practice?

It is also important that we publicize the opportunity to learn about Centering Prayer.
• Are you willing to work on a committee to publicize and support our workshops and other events?

Prayer groups provide us with the best way to sustain our Centering Prayer practice. Facilitators are the underlying support for our prayer groups.
• Do you have suggestions on how we can support facilitators and the prayer groups they facilitate?
• Do you see a need for a prayer group in your area? Are you willing to facilitate a group?

Prayerful Discernment Day

Please come to our prayerful discernment planning meeting on November 9th. We need you to join us as we prayerfully discern our plan for the year ahead. We will choose a new Co-Coordinator for COSTL at this event as well as a Co-Chair for conducting Centering Prayer Workshops. Two periods of Centering Prayer and a short video will be included in the day’s activities.

Saturday November 9th 8:30am-12:30pm
Grace Episcopal Church, Kirkwood
Coffee, tea, and juice will be available at 8:00 am. Please bring a snack to share.
