Go Deeper

Saturday, November 4, 2017
Grace Episcopal Church (Thompson Room)
8:30am – 1:00pm

Contemplative Outreach of St. Louis will host its next “Go Deeper” session on November 4, 2017. This ongoing program is designed to deepen and inform our spiritual life. Each session will speak to our yearning to open to and experience our loving God more deeply.

The topic for this presentation will be “The Spiritual Journey of Etty Hillesum” given by long-time presenter Jim McElroy. Jim will introduce us to Etty Hillesum, a Jewish woman who lived in Amsterdam during the Nazi occupation. Her diary entries from 1941-1943 reveal stages in her relationship with the Divine and demonstrate the spiritual transformation she experienced. Etty’s story offers us food for thought and could reveal some insights into our own spiritual journey.

Anyone with an established Centering Prayer practice is welcome. The day will include opening and closing Centering Prayer periods and opportunities for discussion. Please note that no meals will be served, but coffee, tea, fruit, and nuts will be available. Feel free to bring snacks with you, if you wish. There is no registration for this event. We only ask for a $10 free will donation to cover expenses.

We are all on our spiritual journey every minute of every day. The journey can be very subtle, challenging and exhilarating. It requires an openness to change. How we deal with these changes can make all the difference. We invite you to “Go Deeper” and open to what God wants for you. Please contact Kathy Dunn¬†or Karlye Keleher with any questions.
