“House of God; Womb of God”
What a delightful day, Saturday, July 9, turned out to be! As a participant and a helper in planning, I had a unique perspective regarding this special event that was attended LIVE. It had been over two years since COSTL hosted Go Deeper in person, and we were ready!
The whole day became a much needed mini retreat. Folks thoroughly enjoyed seeing Fr. Thomas on YouTube and hearing his insightful words of wisdom, including “Just be who you are.” Small groups were totally engrossed in discussing the video and sharing their thoughts/feelings. One person noted that just hearing TK say that we eventually drop methods…and just be in Presence, was the most helpful part of the day. From my perspective, this was one of the best presentations Fr. Thomas had ever given. His message was one of challenge and hope as he gently showed us the loving way God transforms us. Eventually our morning came to an end, and we closed with a beautiful prayer—Lectio Divina.

Contemplative Outreach of St. Louis will host its next Go Deeper session on July 9, 2022. This ongoing program is designed to deepen and inform our spiritual life. Each session will speak to our yearning to open to and experience our loving God more deeply.
The morning will include a viewing of the video “House of God; Womb of God” with Fr. Thomas Keating addressing how we grow in our relationship with God. Our willingness to be ourselves, just as we are, is what God wants and allows God to work with that to help us grow. We will begin the day gathering at 8:30 am and ending by 1:00 pm. There also will be an opportunity for Centering Prayer, journaling and small group discussion. All are welcome, but a contemplative prayer practice would be helpful.
We are all on a spiritual journey every minute of every day. The journey can be very subtle, challenging and exhilarating. It requires openness to change. How we deal with these changes can make all the difference. We invite you to “Go Deeper” and open to what God wants for you.
