Centering Prayer Groups

We have groups meeting in-person and via Zoom! Please join us for prayer and community.

Individuals who have attended introductions to Centering Prayer or Lectio Divina are invited to join an existing centering prayer group, or even start a new one if there is enough interest.

Groups generally meet weekly or every other week. A meeting will consist of a period of Centering Prayer and possibly some sharing/study. Videos and books by Fr. Keating and other Contemplative Outreach authors are used to deepen understanding of this spiritual practice. Over time these small faith communities build trust and unity while encouraging each other in the practice of the prayer and possible service outside the group to the chapter and all prayer groups as a whole.

COSTL has Centering Prayer Groups meeting throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area as well as across the river in the Metro-East (Illinois) and in southern Missouri. The groups are listed by day of the week and the meeting place (if in-person) includes a geographic location/zip code so that you may more quickly locate a prayer group close to you. Please note that some groups are restricted to individuals participating in a 12 Step program.

While most groups have open membership, group size and meeting space do limit the ability to accept additional members at any given time. Check the Prayer Group list below to see if the group is open or closed to new members, or if the group prefers that you ask. If you find a group that you are interested in visiting or joining, please call or email the group’s contact/facilitator. Or, you may reach out to Susie Brent, 314-852-4719 or susiebrentcostl@gmail.com.
