Join us June at 5:30pm!
Join us for another “Enlightenment” Series presentation! This program takes advantage of our current extended daylight time to explore together presentations on exceptional topics related to contemplative spirituality as we explore, examine, enlighten, and continue to give life to our personal spiritual journey.
The evening program includes Centering Prayer, presentation and group discussion. Our guest speaker, Rev. Benjamin McWhorter-Rush, will offer a presentation entitled “Finding Our Footing: Groundedness in Contemplative Practice.”
The Contemplative life is an embodied way of being–one that leaves us integrated and purposefully grounded. We find meaning and God’s presence within our humanness, right in the heart of our imperfect daily lives.
Together we will explore the importance of rooting ourselves, going back into our bodies and all that makes us beautifully human. We will explore practices to help us ground our prayer life, to encounter sacred wisdom, and to center you whenever life seems to knock you down and around.
Rev. Benjamin McWhorter-Rush is a deacon in the United Methodist Church and has been on this contemplative journey for many years! He has a Master of Divinity from Palmer Theological Seminary and a Master of Theology from St. John’s University School of Theology where he spent a year studying with the Benedictine Monks.
