Back to Basics is a gathering for anyone who would like a little "shot in the arm" for their Centering Prayer practice and for anyone who simply loves the prayer. Whether you are new to the practice, returning after some time away, or have been practicing for years, you are welcome.
This day invites us to explore Meister Eckhart’s teaching of the hidden soul—the true self that remains rooted in God even amid the noise and demands of everyday life. Together, we will consider how contemplative practice can help us recognize the pull of the ego, deepen our capacity for discernment, and live from a place of greater stillness, freedom and presence.
In our introductory workshop to Centering Prayer, you will discover a centuries-old prayer method. In this workshop, you will learn the basics of Centering Prayer, experience it in a guided setting, and be able to ask questions and share experiences with the presenters and your fellow participants.
