Contemplative Outreach of St. Louis presents:

A 4-Series Follow-Up to Introductory Workshops

This four-session series provides formation in contemplative practice as well as a treasury of wisdom from Father Keating himself.  It is designed to give a broader and firmer foundation for the centering prayer practice for new and longtime practitioners. For more information, contact Charlie Lawrence at Charlesn.lawrence2@gmail.com

Community of Christ Church, 830 N Kirkwood, MO, 63122 (click to open Google map)
Dates: Four (4) Consecutive Tuesdays – August 13, August 20, August 27 & September 3
Time: 6:15 pm to 8:00pm
Flow of the evening schedule:  Gathering at 6:15pm. Promptly begins at 6:30pm, with a centering prayer session and Q & A’s about your practice of centering prayer. After a break, we will view a video by Father Thomas Keating and have time for group discussion.  One of four videos are viewed nightly. After the evening a link of the video will be sent to the registrants.
Facilitators: Peggy Austermann & Charlie Lawrence, Commissioned Centering Prayer Presenters for Contemplative Outreach.

Please bring a notebook. It is recommended to bring your book Open Mind, Open Heart, by Father Thomas Keating. This is a beginner book with questions and answers specifically about the centering prayer practice and the spiritual journey. It is a great companion for the journey. If you would like to order a copy for $20 please check the box on the registration form. And we will have it for you by the first session.

“Centering Prayer is a discipline to foster interior transformation, initiated by God and leading, if we consent, to divine union. One’s way of seeing reality changes, which empowers one to perceive and respond to everyday life with sensitivity to the divine presence in, through and beyond everything.” — Thomas Keating, Open Mind, Open Heart

You are invited to experience the value of the group support and see the difference that it will make in your prayer life.

There is no fee for this event.  As Contemplative Outreach of St. Louis* celebrates our 35th Anniversary this year we would like to gift this series to those who want to deepen their centering prayer practice.
