Between March 1941 and October 1942, Etty Hillesum kept a diary of her experiences as a Jew in Nazi occupied Amsterdam. It’s a story of personal growth, intimacy with God, and the forging of a spirituality which enabled her, even though she did not survive, to reach a state of transformative union despite atrocity. Inspirational!
The Wounded Healer archetype is a concept coined by Swiss psychiatrist Carl Jung. It suggests that healers, often those who have experienced trauma themselves, possess unique curative power for others.
Acknowledging there is a Wounded Healer in all of us, we will review contemplative teachings that explore the concept of trauma healing and spiritual wholeness.
COSTL past, present and future members are invited to celebrate our 35th Anniversary as a Contemplative Outreach Chapter in St. Louis.
