Between March 1941 and October 1942, Etty Hillesum kept a diary of her experiences as a Jew in Nazi occupied Amsterdam. It’s a story of personal growth, intimacy with God, and the forging of a spirituality which enabled her, even though she did not survive, to reach a state of transformative union despite atrocity.
