Matthew 10:16: “Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves.”

Is the mystical Jesus really saying, “I am sending the sheep (the mystical soul) into the midst of wolves (the darkened human ego)”?

I’m sending you into the marketplace. The marketplace is not out there… it is the dark, hostile world of the addicted ego. It is a demanding place, filled with noise, glitter, promises, and life’s endless bling. It will call to you from every direction, telling you what you need, what you want, and who you should become. Do not be fooled by these demanding voices or their promises.

The marketplace will promise satisfaction but leave you wanting more. It will offer you recognition, but never enough. It will tell you that you are incomplete and that something outside of yourself will finally make you whole.

Listen and observe, but don’t obey.

Enter the marketplace, but do not become its possession.

“Learn to stand within the noise,” but don’t let it enter your soul. For beneath the noise, the voices, the glitter, the striving, there is an ineffable silence that cannot be bought or sold.

There, beyond the marketplace of the ego, lies the ineffable soul. The ineffable soul that you were seeking all along…the I Am.
