Quiet Arts

The EnLIGHTenment Series

Quiet Arts

A Creative Response to Challenges

Presented by Rabbi James Stone Goodman

October 29 @ 5:30 PM 8:30 PM

What are the responses that sustain during periods of (increased) challenges? I describe and demonstrate a number of responses, including some quiet practices, some brought down from the Traditions, some imagined new based on traditional Sources. How to work the traditional material for guidelines to living.

“I took a vow. And I accomplished much more than I thought I was capable. Surprise.”

JSG

Prayer, meditation, music, poesying, visualization – we will be talking about spiritual praxis, practice, and its relevance to community organization, politics, a hundred blessings a day, the daily-ness of spiritual practice as creative strategies for daily spiritual renewal. This is the level of changing the world, one person at a time.
